Ingredients
- 1 clove garlic halved
- 1 pound Gruyere cheese grated, will come in blocks
- 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups dry white wine
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 generous pinch grated nutmeg
- 1 loaf (lb) French bread cut into 1" cubes

Instructions
- Rub garlic inside saucepan of double boiler or fondue pot; discard.
- In medium bowl toss cheese with flour.
- Bring wine to simmer in saucepan or fondue pot over medium heat. Add 1 cup cheese to pot; stir until melted and smooth. Repeat with remaining cheese a handful at a time; stir each time until melted and smooth.
- Add lemon juice and nutmeg. Stir until mixture begins to bubble, about 2 minutes.
- Serve with bread cubes.
